End of Season Party

So... thoughts?
  • Venue was decent. I've always been a fan of Rick's as it is, but it did give us enough space. The round tables didn't hinder flip-cup too much.
  • At the end of the day... we probably paid too much for what we got. Kegs ran out once earlier in the night, and we paid like a billion dollars for them to give us two more. Then those ran out at 11 or so. Bars make a ton of money on us, so we shouldn't ever underestimate the power of our large social group. We should be much more hard-assed when negotiating prices.
  • A few of my friends actually took a boat to the bar... so that was kinda cool.
  • Breaker people are pretty low-key. And they suck at flip-cup. Thursday domination!
  • Someone threw an entire roll of raffle tickets at me towards the end of the night. I wasn't even aware we had a raffle... what were we giving away? Who won? WTF?
  • The people who always want to change things might not agree... but Gaspar's Grotto is still the best venue for our season parties.
  • Ruben made it through the night without getting attacked.
  • The Alcobitches were quite hot in their Corporate Ho's attire (Geoff looked mighty dapper as well).
  • If you lost a gray/silver nike sport jacket at my house, let me know. I also found an authentic Liger Captain's Visor that says "Bull" on it. If this is yours please describe it and I'll return it to your possession.

-The venue definately had enough space but I would have to agree that Gaspar's Grotto definately works best for us (and not just because its within walking distance of my house). Never underestimate the power of karaoke to a kickball party. Probably would not have been in our budget since we had two parties but it was still missing.

-There was a raffle? Had no idea either.

-The afterparty at Chandler's was lots of fun. Thanks for hosting Chan. Hopefully this doesn't mean your house will be tp'd soon.

-It was good to see Raf out. We miss him since he moved to Chicago.

-Think Chan shoul plan the next party. Chandler for President!!!

1. I've been in the league for a long time, and this is the earliest I've ever seen a kickball party break up. Usually once our kegs run out, the venue continues with a cash bar. But with the lights turning on and getting kicked out of the tent, people started breaking up into smaller groups for after parties.

2. I agree Gaspar's Grotto is the best venue for us.

3. The after party concert by ChandleRosey was great. I'm going to need you to learn new songs for the next party.

4. Thanks to the board for planning the party, as always.

haha... no way Flo. I'd rather give my opinion and not take on any responsibility. there are many others out there qualified for President.

BUT... that being said, Christopher did a great job this year. we had two parties that were a lot of fun.

Great party from what I remember ;-) I agree that Gaspers is better. I think Rick's was pretty dumb to turn the lights on. Had they just left the lights off and let us pay cash they would have made more money and we would have all stayed there much later.

*There was no raffle. We had the tickets in case we decided to do a 50/50, but I didn't feel like being in charge of that after working the door the whole time. Christopher and some Yeagabombs helped with that too. Thanks to everyone who helped.

*Gaspar's is always my favorite too. It's a great venue, and location, and they love us and keep asking us back.

I agree Gaspar's was fun... and I also liked the fact that we got two parties again.
