Summer Tennis Series

I know the question that is on everyone's mind right now! Why did I drink that last liter at the Dub? Of course the second question would be will the Summer Tennis Series have another installment this week? Not sure of the answer to the first question but the answer to the second is definitely yes! We will once again be playing at the Riverfront Park courts at 7pm. Come out and hit a few balls around and watch Chandler whiff when trying to hit an overhand winner!

Awesome

Softball THIS Sunday!!

....OK since EVERYONE checks DPT at 4:59 on Friday’s before leaving the office, I’m hoping I catch enough people:

Date: Sunday

Time: 6:00 pm

Place: Gadsden Park ( 6901 S. MacDill Ave. )

Please bring any softball/baseball equipment you have. If we don’t have enough gloves we could use the “squishy ball” we used last time. It was pretty fun. We can always play “cut-throat” style with 3 small teams if we can’t get enough people for a full 9 vs. 9 game.

If the fields are not available we may have to relocate “on the fly”.

I know a lot of us are playing soccer in the morning, but I think we can handle a “double-header”…who couldn’t?!?

Plan on taking Friday off if you want to come so we can get up there early, get checked in and start moshing!

Summer Tennis Series

Once again, we will be playing tennis at the Riverfront Park courts on Thursday at 7pm. Who is playing this week?

Welcome Taylor Swift Porn Fans!

DPT continues to get a "surprisingly" large amount of traffic from Google visitors searching for hardcore pornography starring country music hottie Taylor Swift. It all started when April posted this video of a "hardcore" rap song featuring T-Pain. While the video link no longer exists at the YouTube location in the original post... its satire focused on Taylor's innocent image and mocked the fact that she is anything but a gangsta.

Anyway... I just wanted to say hi to all you dirty old men and 12 year old kids who were hoping she had made a sex tape. It's very unlikely one exists, but DPT promises to remain your one-stop source for Taylor Swift Hardcore Porn News! We're currently researching if she likes the poop sex.

Makes Me Laugh

This does too...

I don't know what is funnier. The guy knocking two people out in like 5 seconds.

Or the fact that everyone else is just standing around acting like two people didn't just get knocked the fuck out.

Leif Nissen Scramble Results

The 2nd Annual Leif Nissen Scramble took place Sunday afternoon at the Eagles Golf Club, and initial reviews say it was a fun day of golf. Everything went smooth, and I was really happy with our participation. We had 40 players and a bunch of helpers all coming together to remember our friend and donate to charity... which raised a respectable $400+.

We also got really lucky with the weather. It started out pretty hot and muggy, but a few late showers brought a tiny bit of rain and some cool breeze. The course conditions were about as good as I could hope for, given all the rain lately.

So who won? The children. As in the kids who's lives we made brighter through our charitable donations which will provide a sense of safety and security in these difficult financial times.

Ok... but seriously. Here are the results:

- Flight 1 Champion (1st overall): ToeJammers (Griff, Dawson, Gomez and Scuba Steve) with a score of -6. Two playoff holes against my team couldn't yield a winner, so the scorecard was used starting with the #1 handicapped hole. I must say though... the playoff was very fun and very intense. The team won $40 in gift cards to Wings Gone Wild.
- Flight 2 Champion (4th overall): Alcoballics (Geoff, Duc, Mike G. and Reid). These guys hovered around even par all day... which was good enough to earn them a "Brew Keg" beer kit, as well as a $20 gift card to 220 E. Bistro.
- Flight 3 Champion (7th overall): TheBeerNuts (MJ, Nate, Todd and Paul). The best of the worst! The team took home a Becks mini-keg and 3 free games of bowling! The keg actually has a born on date of 04/08... so it must be 20%+ alcohol by now. Hopefully they'll post video of the team drinking such a finely aged beer.
- Long Drive: Shawn won this competition with a bomb down the fairway on 14. He got a single-day pass to Busch Gardens.
- Closest to Pin: Gomez showed his excellent short game by winning this contest on a hole with a very difficult back pin position. He also won a single-day pass to Busch Gardens. However, since he already has a season pass, he's looking for a lady friend to accompany him. Comment on this post to sign up!

As for the raffle, Drew won the Derrick Brooks autograph. Dawson won some juice, Brent got a XXL PAL shirt for being the largest guy, Michelle scrapped with Missy to win a PAL polo, Irish won a date with Nate, and Maria is getting a PAL hat with her name embroidered on it. Nobody claimed the bottle of ketchup.

I'd like to extend a huge THANK YOU to the following people: Heather, Alicia, Bull, Marla, Brie, April and Josh. They were a ton of help and definitely the reason such an unorganized event went smoothly.

We'll do it again next year! In the meantime... who's up for bowling?!?

July 26th...Anyone else going?

Just wanted to see if anyone else was going to Warped Tour '09. I am not afraid to mosh by myself but would love to have company. I haven't bought tickets yet and we wouldn't have to be there as soon as it opens. I know there is a lot going on Saturday the 25th so I am going a little later...as long as I don't miss LTJ!

Drunk people passed out in yoga positions…

Funny stuff! I'm sure some of us would have our own pics that would qualify. Maybe a new spin on "drunk pic of the week"…

2nd Annual Leif Nissen Golf Scramble

We had a great time yesterday, and luckily the rain held off for the most part.
I took a ton of pictures, which hopefully will be posted soon, but here is the group picture we did after the raffle. Click it for a super large view.

(A few people left a little early and missed it, but we still have a large group.)

We raised over $400 for our charity from the raffle, jello shots, and donations. This will all go to PAL for the Christine Hodill / Leif Nissen Emergency Scholarship Fund.

Thanks to everyone who participated and helped out. We couldn’t have done it without you! Chandler should be posting more info with the results of the tourney soon.

Is Family Guy Good Enough?

I have to admit I’ve only watched Family Guy a couple times, and I thought it was alright. I’m wondering is it really good enough to be nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series? Apparently it is, and I should watch more of it.
The last animated series to be nominated was The Flintstones in 1961, and I believe it was the 1st one too. So, the nominations this year were:

30 Rock
Entourage
Family Guy
Flight of the Conchords
How I Met Your Mother
The Office
Weeds

There is the category of Outstanding Animated Program, which have included shows like Family Guy and The Simpsons.
But this is for Outstanding Comedy Series.
I don’t think it stands a chance against 30 Rock or How I Met Your Mother.
What do you guys think?

I'd SO still watch Sesame Street if it was like this...

Sea L Dub Beach

Few of us are going to CLW Beach on Saturday morning around 11 am. Going to post up next to Frenchy's. We will have a few games out there, and will be setting up a tent and bringing some coolers with some delicious goodness in them. Maybe get a pickup volleyball game going. Lemme know if you want to come.

80s night at Brighthouse Field

Word up.
80s night at Brighthouse field tonight @ 7pm. Thirsty Thursday, 2 for 1 drinks, both liquor and beer, Cowhead from the Cowhead show will be there, and there will be a concert afterwards performed by "Geek Skwad", a new age 80's band. Berm seat tix prices are 4 bucks, but there are plenty of seats all over the park, including the bar area in left field. Parking is two dollars, unless you enter thru the buffalo wildwings entrance, or tell them you are not going to the game, then it's free. Game's over around 930, so it's a good pre-game "game" to enjoy before going out on the town. me and a few others will be out there, if you'd like to join us. The field is located at the intersection of 19 and Drew st. in Clearwater. 80's attire is optional. Oh almost forgot... first 500 customers get a free slap bracelet. Lemme know if you have any questions. They also do a promotion where you can buy tennis balls, for 1 dollar a piece, and at the end of the game try to throw one into a tire they have in the middle of the field. If you do you get whatever money is in the pot. Pretty fun.

Giggitty Giggitty

The Fastest Sport on grass.....

When I was "attempting" to play Softball the other day, I could not understand why I could not hit the ball as I used to play Hurling growing up in Ireland. People were like "what the F is Hurling?" (except Nate!). I think it was Nate who pointed out that striking a ball using a Bat is totally different than a Hurley (different swing totally).....he is right!

So I have posted the link below to give you guys a brief taste of what Hurling is all about. The major competition is 32 County teams playing in 4 groups, then the top two teams in each competing in a tourney for a place in the All-Ireland Final in late September every year in Craogh (Croke) Park, one of the biggest and most beautiful stadiums in Europe.

Keep in mind while watching the video below that these guys are not paid one cent for giving up their evenings and family time to play for their county, as they are amateur. They all have regular 9-5 jobs too!

I have two Hurley's and a Sliothar (ball) here with me too of anyone felt like having a puck-about any day!

5th Annual Jamey Schwartz Classic

Hey everybody!

A few years ago, I lost one of my bestfriends in a car accident. In his honor, a few friends and I have put together a golf tournament to raise money for a scholarship to be given each year in his name. August 8th will mark the 5th Annual Jamey Schwartz Classic to be held in Lakeland, FL.

Last year we netted over $14,000 and awarded a $2,250 scholarship to a deserving student. We have averaged over 100+ golfers each year and couldn't experience the success we have had in the past without the help of our friends and family.

We are looking for the following:

Sponsors
Donations (monetary, giveaways, prizes, silent auction items, etc.)
Participants
Volunteers

For more details regarding the tournament, you can visit our website at http://www.jameyschwartzclassic.com/. If you would like to help in any way or participate please let me know.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

Thanks,

Duc

2nd Annual Leif Nissen Golf Scramble

The tournament is set. We will be playing on Sunday, July 19th at The Eagles.

Here's what you need to do/know:
1) Cost is going to be $30 per person. Please give either myself or your team captain money ASAP. I'll be around at most of our weekly events... so show up to some of them with monies.
2) The tournament will be a shotgun start at 1pm. So make sure you arrive WELL BEFORE this tee time. We will all start and finish around the same time. It was important to get an afternoon starting time for all you drunk asses. So don't be late.
3) We're working on getting prizes. Regardless, there will be various "winners" on such things like "closest to pin" and "long drive" contests.
4) We're playing a scramble. Official rules will be emailed out later.
5) We've decided to honor the memory our dear friend Lief by naming the tournament after him. He had a blast at the inaugural event last year, so hopefully we'll get some fundraiser opportunities in the works. Stay tuned for more info on this.

Pay your captains or get me $30 ASAP.

Funny People Trailer

Red Rocket Report: Weeks 5, 6 and Tourney

I apologize for the delay in getting this update, which I'm hopeful but realistically fearful will be the final Red Rocket Report. It's been one of my greatest pleasures to give you these recaps and such a wide collection of grossly obvious sexual references to describe the action. Should this be the final report, I would just like to say what an honor it was, along with such great people and athletes, to blow so many loads all over the fields and our opponents.

And now, without further due, here's your Red Rocket Report.

Almost two weeks ago the much anticipated "battle of the unbeatens" between those Tuesday night posers, "Where My Pitches At" and the kickball objects of your affection, "the Red Rockets." took place. This game had a lot to offer. Action. Drama. Alcohol. Men in skirts. Shaved nipples. Two 4-0 teams putting their perfect records on the line. It was hot. It was steamy. It was completely gender optional.

The Rockets brought out the big lumber for this one. And I don't mean baseball bats. I mean the big wood. This one got sticky and out of hand very early. The Rockets put on some cherry flavored Anal Eaze (team sponsor) during warmups and 'Where My Pitches At?' should have thanked them. Some solid pitching, defense, a busted kickball and another explosive first inning facial were way, way too much for the Pitches. It was pretty much grabbing ankles and screaming for mercy all night long for them, much like a night with Kickball Charlie. Not that I speak from experience.

Red Rockets 12
Where My Pitches At? 1
Anal Eaze 57

The Rockets seemed to be drained after blowing multiple loads all over the faces of a previously unbeaten team. Next up were the Booty Kickers, who brought their B game in the field and their A game in racial slurs, name calling and bitching. The Booty Bitchers had apparently got the memo that Rockets were unbeaten, enjoyed ass raping other kickball teams and that Rubs is black. This team bitched, moaned, complained, argued and dropped an "N-bomb" at Ruben. On one occasion, Tony appeared to be throw out at home by their pitcher (the quality man who dropped the N-bomb), who proceeded to politely scream at Tony, "You're out, you fat fuck!" Much to his dismay, this fine young man (pictured left), who possibly missed a Klan rally to come to the game was wrong and proceded to throw a tantrum on the pitchers mound. 5 years of playing kickball. That was a first.

After that wonderful display, the Booty Bitchers decided to continue to target their frustration on Rubs, who in case you didn't know isn't black, but he'll take it regardless. That's what he's there for and he pretty much excels at verbal confrontations. It takes a big man not to retaliate with derogatory comments of your own when a pussy is throwing racial slurs and comments at you. And since the Rockets don't have any big men (MJ and Nate are proof), they fired back a few of their own.

Somewhere in the middle of all of the fuss, racial slurs targeted at Rubs and toddler behavior by the Booty Bitcher's pitcher (that rhymes), the Rockets put together a couple of clutch kicks and built a 2 run lead. The Rubs would come in and close the deal. And just like that, the regular season was over. The Rockets finished a very ToeJammer-esque perfect 6-0. The team gathered at the bar to celebrate and wipe themselves off.

Red Rockets 4
Booty Bitchers 2
Anal Eaze 9

The following night was the much anticipated Kickball Society Tournament. The Rockets pulled "Kickin' and Screamin'" in the first round -- quite possibly the most appropriate name of any of the Rockets' opponents all year. It would not take long for them to live up to their name. Prior to the game the Rockets were carbing up and like true porn stars, going heavy on lean meats to try and replace all the protein lost from the night before. And in the first round of the tournament it worked. Name any player on the Red Rockets. Yep, they probably scored a run in this one. I don't see it in the videos or pictures, but I think I recall seeing a rape stand on the field at some point. Maybe the league had good reason not to like us. Kickin' and Screamin' took the big lumber all 4 innings, finished the game 'Screamin' and Bleedin' and finished the season a perfect 0-7. Another game. Another opponent. Another round of first inning facials. Time to carb up again.

Red Rockets 11
Screamin' and Bleedin' 0
Anal Eaze 65 (4 innings)

The 2nd round brought a rematch from the season opener and the Rockets first chance at some follow up booty. The Whiskey Sours had not forgotten the abusive 10-2 pounding they took from the Rockets 6 weeks ago and vowed for revenge or at least asked to have a drink bought for them first. Unfortunately for the Sours though the Rockets used up most of their Anal Eaze in the previous scene, er game. This one dragged on for a long time thanks the Sours pitcher throwing 3 balls to every kicker before throwing a strike. It was close for a while before the Rockets pulled away, pulled out and gave them a pearl necklace. Another game. Another first inning facial. Another frustrated opponent. We didn't even buy them that drink either.

Red Rockets 7
Whiskey Sours 3
Anal Eaze 11 (4 innings)

Now it was on to the semi finals. A matchup with some familiar faces and WAKA representation. This one was a total hater rally. By the 4th inning every player still there on other teams was very openly rooting against our butt humping heroes in red. Perhaps, we should have left more money on the nightstand at some point during the season. The Rockets pulled the lead early in the 2nd and led pretty much the entire game until the 5th. A couple of catch able balls were dropped to the turf by the lady Rockets. Somebody was very adamant at rejecting help to cover a spot in the infield, the ball was kicked right at them, boink, they drop it and the winning run scored. Season over just like that.

Blue Moon 4
Red Rockets 3
Dropped balls in the final inning 2
People playing wrong position 1

After the tourney, Irish put on a Riverdance clinic up at Whiskey North. He was off the chain as evident by these priceless pics below. The party was great and those Rockets that made it out had a great time and got back in the good graces of the league. It was a great fun season. Take care and rock out with your red rocket out!
