Tournament Info and Misc. Crap

  • The tournament brackets are finalized.  Print one... fill it out... bring $5 with it to the fields on Saturday.
  • INaTL jumped the 'Ballics in the final standing due to tie-breaker #2, which is "overall wins."
  • The fields on tournament day open at 10am.
  • The "parking lot" will be "extended" to the tent area to allow all your glorious coolers packed with burgers, dogs, dead hookers and beer.
  • PAL is really concerned with glass bottles on the field.  This hasn't been an issue all season because we don't bring our coolers or beers out there (hi MLoop! <3).  So maybe whoever wins the tournament (SuperBad) should pop the champagne in the parking lot? Thankfully my team won't have to worry about it.
  • The best way to beat Off Constantly is not with lube or a tube-sock. The key is exploiting every close call and giving them something to complain about.  Oh, and kick it to their guys because all their girls can catch.
  • If you ever wondered what Grifter's middle initial (E.) stood for... it's Error.
**UPDATE**

Who else saw this gem in the league email?

"Tie break format for rounds 1 & 2: Each team will designate 1 kicker Each kicker will get 1 practice kick The higher ranked team will choose if they want to kick first or 2nd.

The ball will be placed on home plate. The kicker will kick it towards 2nd base. Who’s ever ball ends up closest to 2nd base wins the game (the ball can go past 2nd)"

I can not WAIT for teams to tie in the first two rounds and lose by this new rule. Oh please please please let the Ligers tie 0-0 and beat OC this way...

Chan what are the chances that you and I both kick homeruns in our respective games? It happened last night...

    Chandler said...

Nate... if you kick a HR in your game and end up winning, you just might be getting free beers the rest of the night.

    Chandler said...

And the chances are probably slim of us kicking homeruns again. I wasn't chunting last night, so my HR was a result of disrespect from OC's outfield.

But how about big Tony? Kicks a homerun with his kid in attendance. He didn't even have to call him to say how awesome daddy is. Just walked over and told his ass.

Well we played Pick Me Up...they only had 8 or 9 players and I kicked a homerun and TBN won 8-7. Since they only had 8 or so in the field I was not Nunting either, other two times I kicked I lined out to the Outfield. Thats why I Nunt lol.

LMAO Tony is amazing, never forget in the Tuesday division tourney he goes up to me and says "I'm about to win this shit and kick a homerun" And he did just that, granted it was the Minor League (Tuesday) Division but still Impressive. JACOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you fucking kidding me??? We are not doing that...

Did anyone else catch that the tourney games will be 5 innings? Why did we play 6 all year to move back to 5 for the tourney?

    MLoop (one syllable) is whack.

    Chandler said...

Bull and Souder reported that in Vegas... ONLY the Florida teams (MLoop's empire) played 6 innings during the season. Apparently the rest of the nation still plays 5 innings.

Running a kickball league is like making a hotdog. It should be impossible to fuck up... yet somehow people do it all the time.

Chandler, that tie-breaker rule was in effect over the summer. If Refill Kevin was in need of a refill then, perhaps he can confirm or disconfirm that his team partook in the event. I know I watched one happen, just can't remember the teams. That's also exactly why I've been worried about a 0-0 tie. I'd go extras all day, but a stupid putt-putt kickoff might be THE worst tiebreaker ever. Hell, rock, paper, scissors would be better.

And do people really not like 6 innings, or is it the inconsistency that yall are bitching about?

Also, just for the record, A BALL ON THE LINE IS FAIR. Thank you.

    Chandler said...

I think people hate the inconsistency. I don't hate anything, since I'm filled with love, flowers and rainbows.

But in our game, let's just agree to play extras until someone stops us. Nobody will know.

The grass the ball was touching was for some reason not painted white. There must have been some inconsistency in the spray. You would have clearly seen it if some douchenozzle didn't pick up the ball...

Whenever a team would ask "are we playing 5 or 6 innings" I would say "oh, you must be from Florida. Founders cup doesn't play MLoop's fag rules, so it's just 5 innings."

    Griff said...

Ya I don't get why this changed...do we have the fields for less time this Saturday or something? Hope that 12:30 start time for second round and some first round games doesn't have anything to do with it...last tourney these rules could have completely changed our fate. Every game went into extras for us!

    Not a fan at all...

    Chandler said...

Just agree with the other team NOT to do the "putt putt kickoff" before your game is played.

    Griff said...

Just read jacks comment abput summer league doing this too...still a ghey rule...

    bull said...

I'm going to go ahead and pull a "douchenozzle" move and quote the Official WAKA Division Tournament Guide...and it says...

    Game Length and Extra Innings
All games shall consist of 5 innings, time allowing, unless falling into the below categories:

    2) In the event of a tie score after 5 innings, extra full innings shall commence until a winner is determined or until
the allotted time expires. Each extra inning should be played with these modifications:
 Place the last kicker (1) from the previous inning on second base
 Only 8 players on the field for the defense consisting of 4 men and 4 women
 All kickers start with an unmodified count (0 balls, 0 strikes, 0 fouls)

There we go being different again!

    Chandler said...

Actually... Bull is right. The official Division Tournament rules say we go into "Kansas City Douchenss" immediately following a 5-inning tie.

    http://www.kickball.com/files/WAKA_Division_Tournament_Guidelines.pdf

Where the Hell did "putt putt kickoffs" come from? If I see anyone doing this at the tournament I'm going to pop the ball.

    Kyle said...

I refuse to play with such a tiebreaker format. Can you imagine what might have happened in the Founders Cup had someone brought an idea like this to the table?

Hey...Fucking Douches from WAKA Corporate...Since you obviously read this blog and threaten our coolers and our kittens, get on the horn with MLoop, Kegger and Jaime and make sure this bullshit doesn't take place tomorrow.

    Grifter said...

Then it is settled, per the WAKA rule book, which i will have on Saturday, we are not settling ties via the ghey put put rule.

Tony ran over to tell Jacob that he hit a home run and he didn't even pick up his head from the game he was playing on the lap top. The only person that cared was Tony.

    Balls and Strikes please.. ALWAYS!!!

    Chandler said...

Jacob was probably playing "WAKA Kickball 2011"... and playing as Tony. So I can see why he was so focused on the laptop.

    The Powers That Be said...

Jaime Does not really give a fuck about how you want to play the damn ties.. Get over yourselves.. Jaime writes what she is required to write. Captains can choose what they want to do. Those rules are in place so when the competitive teams come to Vegas, they all win their league championships under the same blanket of rules. You are a non-competitive league, so it really doesn't matter for competing in Vegas, because you never will.. So again... Jaime does not care...

    Kevin said...

yes sorry to chime in late, we did indeed lose on the kickoff tiebreaker over the summer, to a girl kicker no less

    Alison said...

Mloop that shiz!!! I agree with Kyle...no way are we playing that tiebreaker format!

If Jacob was playing "WAKA Kickball 2011--Corporate Edition" he would have been raking in the cash.

    JACOOOOOOOOOOOB!!!!!!!!
