GKB Season Party
We need to start planning the season party. GKB doesn't typically do things like we're used to... so we'll be putting together a team of people to help out (charity things, flip-cup, bar deals, etc). Regardless, there's not enough time to throw all this together DURING the season.
So... here's what we're looking at:
April 2nd - GKB Tournament day. Will be be too tired and drunk? Does it ruin Rajin Cajin' trip?
April 9th - Gorecki wedding day. Way too many people are going to this.
April 16th - Jimmy Buffett Concert. Too many GKB kids going to this.
April 23rd - Easter Saturday. Might cause people to be too hungover for Jesus.
April 30th - Off Constantly Wedding... not an option since we won't pick a date that excludes an entire team.
May 7th - This is the official party date. Details to come soon. Mark it down.

4/30 is a major OC wedding.
There's also a big pub crawl that day in Ybor, which I'm sure will be advertised here soon enough.
What about 4/23? How many people would miss due to Easter weekend?
Or... there's always 4/16. Whats up that day (other than Gorecki's honeymoon).
I think Easter should be avoided as many people travel to see family on this weekend. Or...just may not be able to stay out as late on Saturday night with pending Easter activities on Sunday morning.
My vote: 4/16.

4/16 is the day of Buffett concert. Not sure how many GKB are going to that but just a heads up.
We'll be in Greece until 4/25 so we can't go either day. If it's after that, I'd be up for helping out. I'll be in wedding planning withdrawl so I'll need something to plan otherwise I won't know what to do with myself.
I thought Buffett died a few weeks ago in Australia.

What about March 26 or April 2? These would be actually closer to the end of the season than some of the dates mentioned.
Is there a budget for this?
4/2 is the actual EOS tournament.
I'm not aware of a conflict on 3/26. I think historically the party has been done after the end of the season, but I suppose there is no strong reason to stand on ceremony regarding that. Anyone else have thoughts on that? We do have to be careful not to make it to soon or else we'll be scrambling to put something decent together in time.
Budget is TBA per GKB, from what I understand. So everyone get ready to use your resources to find the group deals!
3/26 is a major D-10 party... so most of the Shockers and a bunch of other people throughout the league can't make it. It's also 3 weeks away so somewhat in the short notice category.
As for the budget... Alison is correct. We don't know, nor is there any historical precedent for this. We'll be pushing to get the best deal we can, but since Google fired DPT, we no longer have $20 (as in, twenty) to contribute. Haha.
May 7th is fine cuz the weekend after that a select few of us will be in Mexico!
Or April, whatever I got nothing going on in April, besides the 9th is booked.
If this is party is going to be running during the March Madness, then I suggest we go to a place where the Gators will be playing on an actual television. NOCBOC.
Or a tv to view any possible Rays Haw facetivities that may be going on during OC's dominance of said party.

One thing to discuss is why not do it the same weeked as the tourney? Either Fri 4/1 or Sat 4/2? With 10 teams this year the tourney shouldnt go as late. Or we do it that Friday night, the teams talk shit to each other to motivate em for the next day. And I don't wanna hear the excuse that you'll be too hungover cause I'm sure the first round of games wont start till 11am and you all somehow manage to show up to work every friday after a night of drinking. Sat 4/2 is Final Four but I'm sure we r gonna pick a bar thatll have TV's as I'll need to watch Florida play. :P
Thoughts? (about 4/1 or 4/2 not how far Florida will go in the tourney)

I agree with no on Buffett Weekend or the 26th due to D-10 Redneck Ball. Gorecki's idea of tourney weekend or May 7th sound good. Also since Jesus partook of the wine and turned water into wine I don't think he would mind if we imbibe Easter weekend as well. :)
Gorecki doesn't mind tourney weekend because he'll be home and in bed by 10:30pm.
So far, May 7th seems fine... even if it's two months away.
4/2 4/2 4/2 !!! It would great to keep the party going after the tourney. We'd all be amped up and I think we'd get a better turn out. If we're going to wait until May, we might as well wait until June 11th and use the funds for Summer Sizzle. :) :) :)
