ESPN's GOKickball Gameday

Reece - GoKickball game hitting the road to Tampa for the first time this season. This city has been electric for teams in years past. Let's get this delayed party started.

Announcer - Welcome to GoKickball Gameday, pouring drinks by Yard Of Ale

Reece - How about this! The gang is all back together again. Good to go, I'm Reece Davis with Dick Vitale, Digger Phelps and the noted suburban philosopher Jay Bilas.

Bilas - We're glad to be back, we missed the game and the fans in the off-season.

Reece - One new thing Gameday is bringing you this season is the Accuracy Kicking Contest, sponsored by the World Accuracy Kick Association! Our Half-court Shot contest is a smash hit for basketball so we adapted for kickball. Some lucky person will attempt a kick from home plate and if they get it close enough to 2nd base they will win a prize. Unfortunately, it's not a year of college tuition. More on that between the games tonight. Now let's begin with your Upset Alerts.

Vitale - Hey Reece! There is finally a team I can play Kickball on and not have to be a guest coach. "Guys, Balls and Dolls" lack the WOW Factor, but they have a combined 1,057 years of kickball experience. It's going to be Upset City for The Ligers tonight, baby!

Bilas - The Growlers are one of the top teams. But how can you not go with a Honey Badger this early? Honey Bad Hit That matches the combined win total of their teams from last season. One!

Digger - I'm going to shock some people here. I think the Shockers are the best team but they can't be looking ahead at one date, April 29th. I think the addition of the #1 ranked recruiting class gives them the additional firepower and positions of weakness from years past. On the other hand Jacked Up has the experience of playing together in the past and is a decent team. I think they come out and get a shocking win in week 1.


Reece - Is that a Gameday first? Everyone is picking the new teams to win in a week? Did Vitale spike the coffee this morning? Now let's start off with the Pitches Be Crazy vs. ToeJammers.

Digger - I have doubted the Jammers for some time now and still do. There is this music my granddaughter listens to, Hey Jay have you heard of Young Geezy?

Bilas - Who?

Digger - Young Geezy. Well the Jammers have a couple of Middle Aged Jay-Zs. Pitches Be Crazy gets their first statement game in front of their home crowd.

Vitale - I think Pitches Be Crazy has motivation for tonight, my friends. I think they will play with passion tonight and start the year ranked #1 in the Chalice of the Others Voting.

Bilas - The ToeJammers are a tremendous team and are outstanding defensively. They play hard and defend harder. They are the better team and I think they win.


Reece - Moving on to Thee Beer Nuts vs. SuperBad. Break it down for us fellas.

Vitale - I know one thing, Thee Beer Nuts are still on cloud 9 from their previous season. The versatility of the Superbad players is off the charts. They can flat out play. I really think when all is said and done; only they can beat themselves. Superbad starts their march to 15-0 tonight.

Bilas - I have Superbad tonight. They are an outstanding defensive team with the better pitcher. I really think it comes down the pitching matchup tonight.

Digger - I agree that Superbad is a good team. But for me this is payback game for Thee Beer Nuts from the last time they matched up for. These kids know what they have to do and they are going to get it done tonight. Thee Beer Nuts play big in this game and WIN!


Reece - And finally our game of the week, You Look Like I Need a Drink vs. Alcoballics. How do you see this one?

Bilas - The Alcoballics have great chemistry, and bringing back some veterans solidifies that. However You Look Like has a better balance on both sides of the ball and that is the difference maker tonight. You Look Like I Need a Drink earns a hard fought W.

Digger - It will be a struggle for both teams. Both teams play great defense. The game will be a low scoring game. I give a slight edge to You Look Like I Need a Drink tonight.

Vitale - Well I'll tell you Reece, One thing that surprised me is the Alcoballics only play hard when they have to. They lack motivation. They will use that to fuel their fire tonight. Where’s my hat? Can you tell these Alcoballics fans are excited for the game? 1-2-3-.......
