Ligers Go Thin to Win

The Liggers ended SuperBad's 12-game win streak last night, beating the defending champs 2-1 in an epic defensive battle. Both teams employed their own strategies for success:

Supa went with the Power Pitching approach, behind the nasty arm of CJ and his ball doctoring towel. They also had a seemingly random kicking order, which helped strand more runners on base than I've ever seen in my kickball career.

The Ligers only had 7 dudes and 5 chicks show up, and probably only had 8 hits on the night. But they played an error-less defensive game, coupled with some timely line drive kicks (including Litman's game winning RBI) and some hot Lady Liger action.

I'm told that I have to write this... so... CJ threw a bouncing curve ball that I totally whiffed. Thankfully nobody got that on camera.

Some of you aging veterans like myself might recall this is the 2nd time the Ligers have snapped a long winning streak. In 2010, then ToeJammers came to Liger Stadium riding a 15 game winning streak, dating back to their previous undefeated season. Then this happened:

Good time last night though. SuperBad was friendly as always... and I'm sure they'll get their revenge in the playoffs.

That was the best miss Chan. You swiped at that thing like a ninja sweep. You guys did play lights out defense last night, highlighted by the aging vets, chan and rollo. Ligger girls balled out as well. You guys deserved the win.

Yeah as soon as I started the kick I knew it was going to end horribly.

My favorite quote from last night was when Frank was calling my kick a munt, and after being told I followed through he said: "But I know his intention. I can see it in his eyes!"

Haha. So true.

Thanks frank.

My favorite point besides kicking the game tying line drive with 2 outs, stopping franks missle kick from going over my head and then catching it, , helping to end the inning when Superbad had the bases loaded by rushing a guy kicker who happened to chandler kick the ball was actually being flipped upside down in mid air at first place. I just love being manhandled like that.
