Picks Week 4

It's going to be cold again this Thursday - just like your hearts if you don't submit picks!!

Looks like I'm in company with Smooty, CJ and HTPT and we all owe some dranks. Not that it'll happen anyways.

Superbad over the Alcoballics
Like it matters who I pick here… I’m going to be wrong… Fuckin’ Ballics… It must be like some sort of curse for leaving the team. Well, the jokes on you Ballics, I left your team with the clap. Superbad wins.

Ligers over OAF
Even though the power rankings don’t say it, I think that the Ligers are the 2nd best team. I mean seriously, they scored a run on us. That pretty much gets them the 2nd place trophy no questions asked. For your 2nd place prize, I suggest that you get the guys on your team the same “Ligers” short-shorts that the girls have. Team unity is a good thing. Everyone should dress the same. Make it happen, Litman.

Free Ballers over TBN
The awesome run is over, sorry Beer Nuts… This game could go either way in my opinion, so I’ll go with the Freeballers what will probably be considered by others as an upset. Commentary is always hard to do for TBN. You guys need to start doing some crazy, stupid shit to make all of our lives easier.

Growlers over PBC
So yeah, it’s obvious that the Growlers are going to win, but that’s not the story of this game. Something crazy will happen that will baffle scientists for years to come. Deeks will inevitably get a homerun during this game, yet the Growlers will inevitably get a shutout. Mindblowing, I know!!! The person who can best explain this phenomenon in a follow-up post will be the proud recipient of one free drink from yours truly at the bar after the games.

I'll try:

Deeks hits a homerun, but the Growlers pull the douchey appeal play... and Chandler (reffing 3rd base) confirms that he did not touch 3rd.

So he's out, run doesn't count, and he loses his shit (again) screaming about how he now has no respect for anyone in the league (again).

Deeks kicks a home run down the right field foul line. Queen Jess throws the douche I mean challenge flag. Due to the game being a 1 vs. 2 matchup and was live on ESPN there are replay cameras available. Me being the home plate ref I have to stop drinking and review the instant replay in the booth. The ball lands fair but the replay show Deeks sweaty mammoth size foot was over the line and this makes the kick a strike. Deeks having 3 strikes prior to kicking is now out as a strike out. Deeks flips out and I show him the puddle of Deeks sweat in front of the plate confirming the foul step. Deeks then T-bags the growler stereo and blames it on the rest of his team.

Clarification....just you, Chandler. You and Jesus both know what you did.

No chance of us beating Growlers. We're playing for 4th.

SuperBad d Ballics. CJ enjoys that 1 hour a week when his life has meaning. Good for you, CJ....good for you!

Ligers d OAF
The incredibly organized Ligers will win with experience and impressive leadership.

TBN over FB
Haven't seen Rubs team, but I'm just going to assume they aren't interested.

Supa over Ballics
This is tough because Supa isnt the power that it used to be and who knows which Ballics team shows up. One thing that Supa does well is play solid D and get lights out pitching from CJ. Ballics will eventually fuck some things up in the field (probably leading the league in errors) and Supa wins easily.

Ligers over Overcoming a shitty name
ESPN's Peter King has reported that the Ligers will have a trim lineup this week and most importantly will be without Litman so they should be error free in the field. Ligers win by double digits. Something the Growlers couldnt do without Cliff.

TBN over Free Ballers
TBN started the season off in excellent fashion in week 1 taking care of PBC. Then went right back into their "bad new beer nuts" ways in week 2 against the Ballics. Week 3 looked promising with a defensive battle against rival Superbad but utimately lost after some excellent kicking by Supa in the last inning. I havent seen the FreeBallers play this season but TBN has a strong defensive game with 1B James Abbott back in the lineup after the birth of his first child and help Thee Beer Nuts to a shutout victory.

Growlers over PBC
I would love to pick PBC to win this game but even if Deeks kicks 3 HR's the Growlers still score enough to compensate. With Cliff back in their lineup they are looking like the top team in the league again.

Superbad over the Ballics
This is a tuff one as we are missing 3 of our guys and will only have 6 guys on the field. Our ladies are going to have to step up but I think they can do it. With a st patties day theme game I’m hoping to have a little leprechaun luck from my fellow short peeps. With jello/pudding shots at each base I hope this gets the ballices drunk and continues there error filled season to help us win. It’s going to be close but fun game for sure. If I get to peg the shit out of Alison I will consider this a win no matter how the rest of the game turns out.

Ligers over Overcoming Deeks beat down last week.
With no Litman and the overcoming team being pretty quiet this will be a boring game of kickball game. At least Kevin will have his rap juice and blue balls. Maybe someone will take a picture of him peeing in a place he shouldn’t again. Maybe Kevin pees in Todds recycle bins. Knowing Todd he would recycle the pee separating the water and alcohol and reuse in some nifty way.

TBN over Freeballers
The beer nuts have great D and should get back to winning this week. Hopefully there boom box has recovered from the beat down it took on a foul kick from Nate. Lasts weeks game against Superbad was tuff and I didn’t think anyone was going to score again. The free ballers are all about drinking first and kickball second something rubs and griff are not used to. Rubs and griff are slowly making there team better each week and should give the beer nuts a good game. I will watch this game only cause the free ballers have some good looking ladies. Congrats to James Abbott on being a dad you tall som bitch.

PBC over the Growlers.
Upset pick of the week. I think they are up for the challenge. This being a prime time game and live on ESPN. There offence looked good last week and with the cold weather tonight it keeps Deeks sweat to a minimum allowing him to kick the ball into the waste factory again. Which is where Deeks lives. The only douchey thing about the growlers season so far is queen jess and her horrible refing skills, where everyone is out even if you don’t have the ball. Which is worse than my grammar, and we all know how great that is.

Deeks I get 2 hours a week, 1 hour of game time and 1 hour of talking random shit.

Superbad v. Alcoballics
Can someone please add “CJ” to the DPT translator?! YIKES! I can’t believe it’s taken this long for someone to call him out on his grammar/spelling skills – and that that person was him! I almost want to gouge my eyes out reading his picks as much as I do when I read Ruben’s – ALMOST. I was going to say Supa takes the game relatively easy but I will make sure to ref their game. All I have to do is tie a bag full of their jello/pudding shots to my waist and then I’ll miss each call with minimal effort. Gotta up the douche cred!!!

Ligers v. Overcoming Adversity on the Field (OAF)
With Munt back in the lineup this week I don’t forsee a 5 inning shutout with no base runners (OUCH). And apparently Litman won’t be there either? That spells W-I-N for the Ligers no questions asked. And I don’t really have anything to say about OAF other than they suck at themes. #stillbitter

THEE Beer Nuts v. FreeBallers
With a huge upset over Ballics last week and a down and out TBN, I’m going to take FreeBallers here. Rubs and Griff lead them to another victory and finally convince the rest of the team to engage in their typical circle activities– get your cameras ready ya’ll! Actually on second thought, leave your cameras at home. And shield your eyes. Or you could just read ones of CJ’s or Ruben’s posts beforehand which would force you to gouge them out and then you’re golden.

Growlers v. PBC
Of course after Paul says that we are deep enough to field two teams, we have tons of absentees this week, including Barry, who is out FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON. Ya’ll heard that right…. The TV stations are pissed as this will surely decrease their ratings. It’s also Pajama Party theme but it’s so cold the girls opt for sweats instead of teddys – another reason for the declined viewing. Deeks hits a HR or 2 but Growlers manage to eke out the W.

SuperBad v. Alcoballics
St. Paddy’s day full effect tonight! We’re down a few players and Supa has the better costumes. Between that and the cold I think Supa squeeks out the W but I’m hoping for a good game. This matchup seems to go back and forth between us so if there is a game the Ballics could win, it might be this one. I’ll hope that they play as badly as CJ’s grammar and we should be good to go. But they have the luck of the Irish tonight (a.k.a. Missy) and capitalize on Ballic errors to score runs.

Ligers v. Overcoming Adversity on the Fields
I keep saying the Ligers are pretty good this season and I don’t expect any different tonight. They win. Adversity is not overcome. Also looks like the only game tonight where there isn’t a theme. Litman still shows up at YOA after skipping the kickball game and gives the Lightning play-by-play to anyone who will listen.

THEE Beer Nuts v. Free Ballers
The Free Ballers played very well last week against us and I think they are going to be a formidable opponent for a few other teams. Griff and Ruben don’t appear to be the only ones who know how to play as they had some other guys who knew what the heck was going on and were coaching the newer girls. The catcher was quick and people in the outfield caught balls. However, it was a ton of Ballics errors last week that lead to their so many runs. I don’t think TBN will make as many mistakes. Gonna be a good game here and, although I wouldn’t be surprised by a Free Baller victory, I’m going with experience over youth on this one. And…with James a new father, all signs point to TBN celebrations, crushing brew, and having fun.

Growlers v. Pitches Be Crazy
PBC appears to have learned how to play kickball! Their guys can kick and their girls are better than before. With Barry out for the season (WTF Barry???) and Jess revealing that they’ll be short a few people t his week, it’s probably the best chance PBC will get at a victory. I haven’t been picking the PBC games correctly so far, but let’s hope that trend doesn’t continue tonight as I’m picking against them…again. They have to lose some of these games and I’m hoping that the PJ’s will get in their way tonight. Growlers are not distracted.
