Mid-Season Party Breakdown (a.k.a "Where is my money going? Part 3")

Ok my fellow Donkey Punch Tobogganers…with all this talk about “Where does our money go?”, here is a breakdown of what it costs to throw together a mid-season party. I think it’s important that everyone on this league gets the most for their money but still has a good time, so here’s what’s been worked out for this season.

Our budget is $10 per person in the league, so this season we were working with a budget of $3800. We allotted $3000 max to be used for the mid season party and base it on 200-250 attending. Here’s a breakdown of what Wings Gone Wild agreed to do for us:

Kegs: $84/Miller Lite, $68 for Bud Select. 15 kegs total = $1148
Liquor: One free mixed drink or glass of wine on the house. After that $5 premium well drinks and shots and $6 for any Red Bull drink.
Food: $1000 will include pre-selected appetizers (TBD but will most likely be wings, sliders, fries, chips and salsa). 20% off other selected food items.
Karaoke/DJ: $250
Cups and wristbands: $0

In the past, some of the fees and quotes we have dealt with have been:

Kegs: $180, $105, $190
Food: $900, $1300
Karaoke/DJ: $500, $250
Cups: $60

Another thing - I know that we are spending a good amount of $$ to play and it's clear how much of that goes to PAL, but this league has also been very generous when it comes to donating to charity, which is great! I’m having the past charity donation amounts sent to me, but I do know that at the last date auction we raised over $2500! All the money we make next week has been agreed to go to Special Olympics of Hillsborough – not PAL.

Well done Miss President. If for some reason we don't go through all 15 kegs, do we get a refund for those kegs not used so we have a bit more to spend on the EOS party or are we liable for those costs either way? Wouldn't think that would come into play but since Chandler and Bull won't be there that should give us an extra keg to play with. lol

Yes - WGW (and most other places we've talked to) will buy back any unused kegs...though I don't foresee our group slacking on the beer drinking!

Thanks Brie! I'll have our previous "deals" in a spreadsheet and on the blog soon. You rock!

FYI - We used to give to other charities, not only PAL. Some of the other charities we've given to are MS and the Red Cross.

Also, the season we did the last date auction we raised over $5,800 and were awarded the "King of the Hill" award for raising the most money for charity in all of WAKA.

I have a lot of the old contracts from parties and such, if you guys need any info for the spreadsheet you're putting together.
