DPT Recap

Here's a generalized list of shit that has been going on:

  • The Alcobowlics went the entire regular bowling season without scoring a single point.  The '76 Bucs and '08 Lions are very proud of them.  The Alley Gators aren't that good either.
  • Bayshore Blue-Ballers soccer team can't seem to finish their season due to rain.  They're in 7th place (out of 10) with a 2-2-2 record.  If the playoffs ever happen, you should go watch this debacle.
  • Knowlty Poo Pants posted a ton of information on the Savannah trip. If you're into road trips and getting bombed all weekend long, you should sign up for this.
  • A bunch of dudes let Florian win at poker. What were we thinking?
  • Teneille doesn't know anything about soccer and hates freedom.
  • Today is the longest day of the year. Literally.
Enjoy your week.

today also might be a monumental day in the rays organization...

Rays principal owner Stuart Sternberg "will make an important announcement regarding the future of the Rays' franchise" on Monday, according to a team statement.
A Rays spokesman would not elaborate further on what that announcement would entail, but there is speculation that Sternberg may speak in greater detail about the team's position regarding a potential new stadium.

The news conference is scheduled for 12:15 p.m. ET at Tropicana Field during the Rays' off-day.

I hope to God they don't fuck this up.

They probably will though.

Ryan said...

We'll see Chandler.

He said he was open to anywhere in Tampa Bay, including Tampa and/or Hillsborough.

If they move to Tampa, say Downtown or Westshore. Avg Attendance goes up by 5-7k. Mark it down.

Nate Dawg said...

I agree with Bito...at least 5-7K

Chandler said...

They had to have that press conference in order to publicly negotiate sites with the City of Tampa.

Downtown needs to happen.

wow Chandler... Your correct.. I don't know anything about "soccer". The REAL Football however, and can wipe your face in it any day.. :P

Chandler said...

"you're" not "your"

and we'll see how those brackets look once group play is over...

trinihic said...

actually mr. grammer it is "your" because "you're" is you are and not relevant in the point I was making.. :) boop, thanks for playing, try again...

Chandler said...

what? is anyone else reading this?

"You are correct" (ie: you're correct).

Not: "your (possessive) correct"

you're defending the wrong use of "your" in your last comment.

boom. I just put triplets in you.

Chris said...

A couple points here Tobago. First and foremost, it's grammar. Secondly, you're (you are) mistaken. Your is possessive, so saying "your correct" would imply that Chandler owns a correct, that is just silly. Here are a couple sample sentences. "Your country's team failed to qualify for the world cup. You're upset about this and your bracket(s) will probably lose." Thank you for playing.

M. Gorecki said...

according to waka its "her bracket will probably loose"

Chandler said...

"it's" not "its", Mike.

Ryan said...

While we are at it...

1. World Cup is a proper noun.
2. T are you drunk? How many Ultimate Long Islands have you had today?

Nate Dawg said...

LOL. Silky! You stole the f'ing words out of my mouth! Good to see you man, its been a while...

I'll get on this hate bandwagon...

Original comment from Trini:
wow Chandler... Your correct.. I don't know anything about "soccer". The REAL Football however, and can wipe your face in it any day.. :P

As pointed out by others and now myself, let's recap her errors:
1) "wow" should be capitalized, it is the beginning of a sentence.
2) No space is needed after "..." and "Your" (and we'll get to that one).
3) "Your" should be "You're."
4) No space is needed after “..” and before “I.”
5) When ending a sentence and the final word is in quotations the punctuation mark is placed inside the quotes. When soccer was quoted it should have been written as "soccer."
6) “Football” did not require capitalization.
7) “Football” should have a comma after it and before “however” since it is being used as an expression and interrupts the sentence flow.
8) The “And” after “however” is superfluous.
9) Two periods are not needed to end a sentence.

Corrected Trini comment:
Wow Chandler...you’re correct.. I don't know anything about "soccer." The REAL football, however, can wipe your face in it any day. :P

Next Trini comment:
actually mr. grammer it is "your" because "you're" is you are and not relevant in the point I was making.. :) boop, thanks for playing, try again...

1) Beginning of sentence not capitalized.
2) Should have been "Mr."
3a) Grammar should have been capitalized since it is being used as a title to address a person.
3b) Grammar was misspelled.
4) Commas should be used to set apart a title when a person is directly addressed.
5) “You are” should have be quoted.
6) The end of a sentence does not need two periods.
7) The beginning of the next sentence was not capitalized.

Correct Trini comment, part duex:
Actually, Mr. Grammar, it is “your” because “you’re” is you are and not relevant in the point I was making. :) Boop, thanks for playing, try again.

Conclusions:
Teneille: 2 posts
Errors: 16
Hate: +7,650,123
(Even Silky didn't capitalize "hate" at the beginning of his sentence.)
Teneille was probably drunk.

Tobago beats Trinidad.

Wow. That is a lot of hate. My mind is blown.

Nate Dawg said...

Talk about blowing a "hate" load...

Florian said...

Alison just took "hate" to a whole nother level!

Alison said...

Florian: 'nother

Thanks. :)

J.W. said...

What's that? You want more hate?

"9) Two periods are not needed to end a sentence."

"Wow Chandler...you’re correct.. {two periods remain, but the bold doesn't stand out enough so I'm adding this} I don't know anything about "soccer." The REAL football, however, can wipe your face in it any day. :P"

Beyond those corrections, this whole comment is a grammatical clusterfuck. It should probably read:

"Wow, Chandler, you're right. I don't know anything about soccer. However, I can wipe your face in the REAL football any day. :P"

I don't think trinihic is referring to "the REAL football's" ability to wipe Chandler's face in "it," but she wrote it that way.

"5) “You are” should have be quoted."

"Correct Trini comment, part duex:
Actually, Mr. Grammar, it is “your” because “you’re” is you are and not relevant in the point I was making. :) Boop, thanks for playing, try again."

Also, that last little bit is a comma splice. "Try again" should stand alone as a sentence.

In conclusion, don't correct grammar unless you're ready to be corrected as well, or at least follow your own instructions in sentence correction. Oh, and, trini, it was lovely to meet you the other day at the pool. Now you know I'm a complete ass hole on the blog and in real life (although not really in real life... yet).

Boom. Who's pregnant this time?

Alison said...

I think Jack just put quintuplets in me!

Alison said...

JW...so does this mean you’ll be covering my Ray’s ticket for Saturday as a form of child support? ;)

Teneille and I are about to have a whole lot of illegitimate babies to raise!
