Season 13 Party Budget Debacle

WHERE DID THE PARTY BUDGET GO?

Well boys and girls, I am posting my first ever blog, and you might be asking why? Well, I was just informed yesterday, while negotiating with Gaspar’s that out party budget was only $1600. Now for those of you, who have helped plan the parties in the past or even looked at the spreadsheet Chandler has posted on this blog, know…WAKA gives us $10 per a person for the party budget.

Well let’s do some basic math…shall we:

24 (people per a team) x 16 (teams) = 384 people.
384 people x $10 (per a person) = $3840

We can all agree we have a total of $3840, correct... Now let me explain to you how we go from $3840 to $1600, and you can decide for yourself if MLoop is a complete jackass. (I am going to refrain from throwing Jamie under the bus, because she was a little shocked with the budget as well). Now this is only based on what I know because MLoop refuses to give me an itemized list.

1) It went to parking
2) It went to our pre season/MacDintons party
3) It went to trophies (which is nominal… so who cares)

Now I want to know who told them to take the parking money out of our party budget. I personally was under the impression that the higher fees resulted in the so called free parking. And, I remember last year Ty explaining that our surplus party budget could not be used for free parking on tournament day according to WAKA. So…when did this rule change, and why we were not informed. I for one, and I am pretty sure most of you would rather pay the $1 parking fee per a game instead of having it taken out of the party budget.

The pre-season party at MacDintons, where apparently MLoop and that douche bag Keggers said WAKA was paying for. Well he lied…that came out of our party budget again. And since most people thought it was just the captains meeting, most kickballers did not get to participate in the free drinking that lasted only an hour, and $1 Miller Lights at that. I wonder if we paid for those two jerks to drink as well, and my vote is YES!

Now if you add all three of those things together for a total of $2240 ($3840-$1600). So boys and girls, that is where your party budget went. Now Jamie said she was able to work out a deal with Elmer’s, so that we could get everything on our list food, beer, flip cup tables, and Karaoke. But let’s be honest, Elmer’s was not the best venue, but I guess we will have to make the best of it.
I just thought you had the right to know how your money was being spent.

PS…I told Jamie I would help collect the money for the flip cup tournament so if you would like to play please find me on Thursday. Thanks.

Let me start by saying... who is JMV? Why aren't we doing our party at WGW again? I thought they gave us good rates last year, no?

First off who is JMV? Why aren't we doing it at WGW? I am pretty sure everyone was in agreement that WGW was the best location we have our party so far. Is there going to be date auctions again this year or did someone get their feelings hurt? What was the cost of the preseason party at Dintons? You know the one where we had to wait 30 minutes to get our "free" beer and that was only if you were lucky enough to be around the tray of 10 or so beers when it was brought out. At the rate they brought out the beers I would say they only gave out maybe 200 at most. I want answers!

JMV = Jenn V

I'm told we didn't go to WGW due to the Gator Club being there at the same time.

There's no way we have a date auction put together in 10 days. Although a lot of people got their feelings hurt last year. And I STILL haven't gone on my date, dammit! :)

No idea what pre-season cost is. Apparently MLoop won't tell us.

my phone: Ring Ring
me: Hello
my phone: Hi, this is Ginnie Springs. What are you doing on the 16th of October?
me: Well, there's this small budget party that WAKA is having...but fuck that!

Hmm... looking at our last three mid season party budgets, the average cost was $3,200. So guess we get to expect half the party this year?

Bummer dude!

Can't we just change the date again and do it at WGW? lol

Sorry the party is not at WGW guys. They have a long standing arangment with the Tampa Gator Club, so Mike could not guarantee us private access. Plus we couldn't afford it on outr budget since last seasons party cost $2800.

Trust me, I had a nice little party planned for Gaspar's, but when they told me how much they would give me, I had to tell them No. Trust me...I was livid yesterday.

Either MLoop thinks we are ignorant on how much thing cost, or he just doesn't care.

$1600?! Let the Natty Lights start flowing!

Even WGW was more than that. We average a minimum of 15 kegs per party - and God knows our league can drink more than that. Yes, we can get 15 kegs at WGW but that leaves us with roughly $580...and that money has to pay for gratuity, DJ and food (and I'm not even talking about the decent spread we've had at the last 2 parties - I'm talking about the very basics, chips, salsa, etc). Unfortunately with WGW being the official Gator Club viewing bar and the Mississippi game time still being TBD, we can't plan anything over there.

The budget has always been $10 per player so the fact that all of a sudden our $$ has disappeared is complete bullshit. Hell, the Gator bye week is Oct. 23rd - same as our playoff day. We should just take the $$ and go straight from the fields to WGW after the games are done. Or throw it down at the Rajun Cajun. $1600 is probably more than they rake in a week. They'll probably re-name the bar after us.

That sounds like a great idea Brie. Instead of wasting our money on bullshit snack food that nobody would miss, we should just have the party one the 23rd after the tournament and at a place that can offer us more. As long as we do not run out of beer, have enough tables for flip cup, and a little music, we are happy people for the most part.

Why don't we take all the money, throw it way up in the air and whatever God wants, he keeps.

lol... Let's just party at Bruce's place... LOL.. :)

The 23rd would be a potential game 7 of the ALCS, I doubt anyone is going to last that long with the Rays anyways...
I say kegs and a bon fire in a field.

So, why don't we give the money to Rajun cajun, I'm sure if we let them know the date we are coming they would LOVE to have us after the tourny. Just sayin. This is ridiculous and I'm going to find out what their bar tab was at MacD's that night.

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE the Rajun cajun idea!!!! This would cover the expenses for all the TV's the fall on my head after Bull tackles me, they could re-wire the fire alarms, and probably get a sign that flashed "dongs in rear, pack it hard." In.
