GameDay - Week 2

ESPN’s GoKickball Gameday

Fowler - Sunrise on this Kickball Thursday. It's early and boy are they revved up and ready to go here in Tampa. These fans can't wait for kickoff. Gameday gets your day started next.

Announcer - Welcome to GoKickball Gameday, pouring drinks by Yard Of Ale

Fowler - Good Morning Kickball Fans and Welcome to GoKickball Gameday. Alongside Desmond Howard, Kirk Herbstreit and Lee Corso; I'm Chris Fowler. We apologize for not being on the air last week due to the fact WAKA still held the contracts for all 4 of us. After long negotiations we've finally be released from and are on-board with GoKickball.

Corso - It's great to be here in GoKickball with the headgear. There is going to be big time kickball tonight.

Desmond - I'm excited to be here. There are big tests for almost all the teams. We'll truly find out who the big boys are tonight.

Herbstreit - We have a first kickball double header. This is only week 2, but the Growlers and ToeJammers need to be in tournament mode tonight

Fowler - Which teams will take care of business tonight? Coming up more in-depth, your upset alerts and a special double headgear selection from Mr.Corso. We all know you have missed that. Stay Tuned.

Fowler - How about some upset alerts this week fellas?

Corso - This is the classic letdown trap game for the Ligers. They come off that huge win last week, scoring record runs. I think they used up all their offense last week. You Look Like... pulls off the upset.... or is it?

Desmond - I'm going the opposite of you Coach, look for Kickball Team to upset Brown Chicken, Brown Teneille.

Herbstreit - I'll tell you what. I kept picking Thee Beer Nuts last time and got burned. I'm taking newcomer I'd Hit That to pull the upset. I think the Beer Nuts will be in letdown mode from the opening chug-off, which will turn out to be rock-paper-scissors again. Watching film of this team, it was clear people didn't know where to play in the field. I heard Coach Bowden stopped by practice during the week to give them a tutorial and a strategy. They also have my early pick for freshman of the Year, who is a kickball freak.

Fowler - Now for Thursday's Selections. Onto Growlers vs. Alcoballics. Remember this is game 2 of a Growlers doubleheader.

Desmond - People are still talking about 7 minutes from the Alcoballics-Shocker game last week. I think some of the Alcoballics players will still be focused on that and not the game this week. I look for the Growlers to take advantage of that lapse of concentration tonight. Growlers win this game easily.

Corso - The Growlers win this one easily late in the game. The Alcoballics defense will corral the exhausted Growlers offense until late in the game when they start paying attention to their watches for time and not the ball.

Herbstreit - I'm going with the Growlers in this game also. I saw the tape last week and saw several catching issues and throwing errors from the Alcoballics. Don't look for that to improve tonight with the return of 'Ball Drop Goreki' to the Alcoballics Defense. I think this game is a blow-out and a wakeup call to the Alcoballics to bring Duc and Geoff out of retirement and stop letting players transfer in the offseason. 

Fowler - Now for our special double headgear selections. First up we have, ToeJammers vs. Growlers.

Desmond - Both teams are playing their first game tonight. While the Growlers were MIA last week, the ToeJammers were scrimmaging and signing autographs. They also played the GoKickball tournament over the summer.  I still think the ToeJammers are the big dogs despite being in a different league last year. They also have the edge in the all time series.  I'm going with the ToeJammers again tonight.

Herbstreit - It's all about coming in and executing tonight. I think the Growlers are able to get some big plays and despite the ToeJammers having a top rank defense, they explode offensively. However I also think the ToeJammers will make adjustments during the game to score runs with the Growlers. This is going to be a tough game for both but I like the ToeJammers team a little more after their scrimmage. I think The ToeJammers survive and win in a shootout under the lights.

Corso - Kirk, I give you a big NOT SO FAST MY FRIEND! I think it's a low scoring game and the defense leads the way. It's a classic historic matchup. You got the high powered Growlers Offense averaging vs. the ToeJammers stellar Defense. And we all know a good defense wins championships. Even though this is their first game, both teams will be prepared for a fight tonight. Give me that Jheri Curl Wig and Soul-Glo hair product. ToeJammers win in a game that's this close.

Fowler - Finally we have the ToeJammers vs. The Shockers. This is the 2nd big hurdle tonight in the ToeJammers entrance to GoKickball.

Desmond - It’s interesting the role reversal tonight. In Waka it was the Shockers who were the underdogs. Now today I think its ToeJammers coming in as the underdogs and perhaps tired after their first game. Watch the Shocker Defense tonight. I think they will control the game defensively tonight. Shockers win.

Herbstreit - I think there's so much talk about both teams. For the ToeJammers talk about individual performances that make you step back in awe, whether it's Rueben on the field or Griff at the plate. The challenge tonight for The Shockers is making sure they can play solid defense and not allow that one bad play which leads to a big inning.  There will be a lot of emotion out there. Both teams are equally balanced on offense and defense. I think the difference in this game is The ToeJammers are warmed up in tourney mode in this doubleheader. ToeJammers Win.

Corso - NOT SO FAST MY FRIEND!!!! Shockers have a championship type Defense but their offense at times has been shaky. Their offense was clicking last week. The real key for me is AARP. The ToeJammers have some newcomers, while the Shockers are all veterans and know what it takes to win.. I'm a believer in this Shocker team. Hey Fowler, let me tell you what.

Fowler - what coach?

Corso - you said a special double headgear pick today, well a double NOT SO FAST MY FRIEND!!!! Give me that headgear, I'm going to give you a special 3 headgear picks today....Give me that gator head and those purple foam fingers.......     Go GATORS!!!  GO SHOCKERS !!!  GATORS!!!  SHOCKERS !!!
